It’s time to stick tiny coloured porcelain bits to the walls of your Portuguese palace…don’t have a palace, don’t sweat it. Michael Kiesling has you covered with his hit board game, Azul. Aaron’s back on the board game podcast with Matt and David. Much geek discussion occurs, a Matt’s quiz (which is half-decent), and an Aaron’s Top Ten (Twenty). Much of the show becomes a discussion of board games across the ages. Something for everyone in this month’s show.
We announce the winner of Photosynthesis, plus everything you need to get hold of your copy of Azul.
It’s the 5th Annual 7LandHand Beer and Pizza Show. This year, LIVE from Good Games Cannington. We reflect on the year that was (2017) with thirty of our closest gaming friends. Discussion includes: MTG Sets from 2017, Essen board game recommendations for 2018, and we even check in with the Mirror Online to see what garbage board game recommendations they made for Christmas presents. Kai does forty-seconds of 40k LIVE…and Matt baffles everyone with a series of questions he called Matt’s Quiz.
Lots of beer, lots of pizza, lots of laughs.
Happy New Year, everyone.
We’re wearing Firs as we Maple some ‘Sick Amores.’ Trees, Light…chlorophyll, it’s time to photosynthesise. It’s the most beautiful game created, which we then litter with a Matt’s quiz. Jaime stretches a Photosynthesising Top Ten to include synthetic beings (much better), and we announce the winner of last month’s GOTM: Queendomino.
You are the sunshine of my life…
You have a cousin in Egypt, and they’re in trouble…sound like Love Letter to you? Of course, it does. Lovecraft Letter reinvents Seiji Kanai’s card deduction classic, and with a new spin, changes the dynamics of this short-game favourite forever. Matt gives us a love letter inspired quiz, and there’s Jaime’s Top Ten. Plus, discount passwords, and the winner of Unearth.
It’s all above ground like a post-hibernation rodent, but this is no groundhog day. Unearth is here, brand new and sparkling, straight from Brotherwise, to 7LH, to your ears. We have a new segment: Jaime’s Top Ten (with an incredible theme tune from Danul), Matt’s quiz, a winner for our Tokaido give-away, and Matt thinks out loud…several times.
‘Mr Jack’ with Mr Cathala. Bruno Cathala is back to tell us about London in 1888 and the terror walking the streets known as, ‘Jack the Ripper.’
To this day the murderer is unknown, and here’s a game that puts you in the role of either the investigator or the fleeing Jack.
Then a ‘Matt’s Quiz’ theme tune happens, Neets and Twooze with the announcement of last month’s game winner, plus a whole bunch of geeky opinions.
It’s time for a tale from the vale, Mystic Vale. Sleeve up, and bring the rest of your jumper, for a druidic clash of card construction. There’s a Matt’s Quiz hosted by Jaime, your Neets and Twooze, a winner of a copy of Isle of Skye and all your password needs for July.
Rule & Make’s ‘Hand of Fate: Ordeals’, designed by Barantas, just successfully completed the ordeal of Kickstarter. With that king laid to rest, we talked with Barantas about the cards Kallas is dealing him in life, game design background, and all those other odd 7LandHand conversation nuggets that pop up.
Thanks to Rule & Make for sending the podcast an early copy of the game. Matt and David talk about their initial play-through of this Australian designed and published game.
If you missed the Kickstarter, keep your eyes and ears open for this title towards the end of the year.
I love sky, and just as well, it’s everywhere. Isle of Skye, however, is best found in your local Good Games store. We ask if the Mull of Kintyre should be classed as highlands whilst we unwrap the Scottish secrets of journeying from Chieftain to King. We also have your Neets and Twooze, Matt’s Quiz’s theme tune, and somebody WINS Unfair…totally fairly.
There’s a clown in the drain, but if you think that’s unfair, you haven’t played Joel Finch’s carnival classic, ‘Unfair.’ Joel pops in to the pod to explain why a Funfair is better without one of its ‘F’s’ (Spoiler Alert: It’s the first one). We listen to Matt’s quiz’s theme tune, talk week in geek, Neets and Twooze, somebody wins Arkham Horror the card game and, of course, we talk you through Good Games Publishing, and CMON’s ‘Unfair.’
